Rising in Love

My thirst for love is insatiable. I fall in love, I travel,

I melt into my roots, my friends, my family

With each sip my soul rests, I am home she sings....

Agra, the famed city and home of the Taj Mahal, a symbol of undying love.

The Taj Mahal was built by the Moghul emperor Shahjahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal who died giving birth to her 13th child.

This beautiful wonder took over 20 years to build and the story is that Shahjahan watched it being built everyday and night from his palace across the river.

Over 25,000 artisans toiled day and night to create this unique and spectacular tomb. The building is full of interesting optical illusions and based on principles of sacred geometry.

I was totally awestruck by its size, beauty and grandeur.

I ticked off an item from my bucket list!

The unexpected surprise though was this living breathing modern age symbol of undying love, hope and faith that I found in Agra; Sheros Hangout, a little cafe run by survivors of acid attacks.

You cannot leave Sheroes without being inspired!

How magical that this cafe is at the same location as the Taj Mahal, celebrating all there is to honour about women, love, beauty and courage.

Another love story........of rising in love

At a wedding in South India two eyes meet. The boy falls deeply in love, the girl sighs innocently.

He climbs mountains, swims through the deep ocean and fights for her.

I must have her...

He starves himself until there are is no hunger, until there are no mountains and the ocean is gone.

They rise together in love as Man and Woman.

This is the true love story of Bhavish and Vaishnavi. Vaishnavi is my little cousin and Bhavish the lucky man who won her heart!

And...yes he actually starved himself for a week to convince his family to accept the woman he loves so!

My holiday is complete and I leave inspired by this beautiful love story.

Unit next time,

Love, again and again,

Deepthi xx
